Play Pickle Terms and Conditions

  • By participating in any pickleball program, service or event offered by Play Pickle, whether as a participant, player, spectator, coach, or in any other capacity, you are accepting and agreeing to the terms and conditions of play. You acknowledge that you have had sufficient opportunity to read and understand these terms and conditions before choosing to participate.

    Age Requirement: All Play Pickle programs (except dedicated children's programs) require participants to be 18 years or older. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Pickleball, like all sports, carries inherent risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to prevent or minimise harm. These risks range from minor injuries such as bruises, strains, and sprains to major injuries such as broken bones, torn ligaments, concussions, and other medical conditions, up to and including death. By choosing to participate, you recognise and understand these risks.

  • By participating in Play Pickle's pickleball programs, you knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, relating to your participation, and you accept personal responsibility for any damages resulting from such risks.

  • Play Pickle does not offer personal injury insurance for participants. All participants are strongly encouraged to have their own personal injury and health insurance coverage. It is the sole responsibility of each participant to secure adequate insurance to cover any injuries or damages they might sustain while participating in Play Pickle activities.

  • You confirm that you are physically fit and have no medical condition that would prevent your full participation in pickleball activities. If you have any concerns, speak to your registered medical professional.

  • You hereby discharge and hold harmless Play Pickle, its agents, representatives, employees, and any other individuals or entities acting on its behalf, from any and all claims, actions, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses, whether known or unknown, arising from or related to your participation in any Play Pickle pickleball program.

  • In the event of an injury or medical emergency while participating, you grant Play Pickle permission to seek emergency medical treatment on your behalf. You agree to be solely responsible for any associated medical or related bills that may arise.

  • By participating, you grant Play Pickle the right to take photographs or video footage of you and to use these for any lawful purpose, including promotional materials, without compensation to you.

  • Some activities run by Play Pickle are self-organised and may not have a designated facilitator or supervisor present.

    Certain programs may take place without a first-aid kit or a designated first-aid officer on-site.

    Participants are responsible for their own safety and are advised to have their own first-aid provisions and contact emergency services (000) in the event of an incident or injury.

  • Your participation in any Play Pickle pickleball program or event signifies your understanding and agreement to the terms of this Participation Agreement. By choosing to participate, you forgo any rights to bring legal action against Play Pickle for any reason covered by this agreement.

    This agreement applies to all current and future participation in any pickleball program or event offered by Play Pickle.

Sydney Social Pickleball Terms and Conditions

Sydney Social Pickleball is a member-based pickleball club affiliated with Pickleball Association of NSW (PANSW). All players participating in Play Pickle programs must be members of Sydney Social Pickleball or a registered PANSW affiliated club.

Membership with Sydney Social Pickleball provides access to insurance and other benefits associated with PANSW. The following terms apply to all Sydney Social Pickleball members and activities:

  • All participants in Play Pickle branded programs must hold a valid membership with Sydney Social Pickleball or another Pickleball Association of NSW (PANSW) affiliated club.

    Membership with Sydney Social Pickleball will be designated as a "social membership," which provides access to all club programs and benefits but does not include voting rights within Sydney Social Pickleball Incorporated.

    If you would like to apply for a voting membership, a formal request must be submitted in writing to sydneysocialpickleball@gmail.com and be approved by the association committee.

    All members of Sydney Social Pickleball will also become members of Pickleball NSW, gaining access to additional state-level benefits and coverage.

    Pickleball NSW members and members of other NSW-based affiliated clubs are granted reciprocal membership and will be covered for insurance purposes during Play Pickle programs and Sydney Social Pickleball activities.

  • Sydney Social Pickleball provides personal injury insurance coverage for its members through the Pickleball Association of NSW (PANSW).

    This insurance covers personal injuries sustained during participation in all sanctioned Sydney Social Pickleball activities.

    Insurance claims must be submitted directly to PANSW, and Sydney Social Pickleball will assist members in facilitating the claim process where necessary.

  • By becoming a member of Sydney Social Pickleball, you acknowledge that pickleball is a sport with inherent risks, as outlined in the Play Pickle Terms and Conditions.

    You agree to release Sydney Social Pickleball, its officers, directors, volunteers, and representatives from any liability arising from participation in Sydney Social Pickleball or Play Pickle activities.

    This release extends to all affiliated clubs, including Play Pickle, as a program provider.

  • As a member of Sydney Social Pickleball, you agree to adhere to the club's Code of Conduct, which includes respecting fellow players, coaches, and officials, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment.

    Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or termination of membership at the discretion of the Sydney Social Pickleball committee.

  • You confirm that you are physically fit and have no medical condition that would prevent your full participation in pickleball activities. If you have any concerns, speak to your registered medical professional.

  • You hereby discharge and hold harmless Play Pickle, its agents, representatives, employees, and any other individuals or entities acting on its behalf, from any and all claims, actions, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses, whether known or unknown, arising from or related to your participation in any Play Pickle or Sydney Social Pickleball program.

Code of Conduct

  • Every player, staff member, and spectator at Play Pickle events deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. We have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination and harassment of any kind. Embrace the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all participants to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment.

  • Pickleball is not just about winning, but playing in the spirit of fairness and sportsmanship. Understand and adhere to the rules of the game, and accept all decisions made by event organisers and referees. Display integrity and honesty in every match, whether you win or lose.

  • Your safety and the safety of others is paramount. Play responsibly, be mindful of your physical limits, and follow all safety guidelines. Report any hazards, injuries, or unsafe conditions to the event staff immediately to ensure a secure environment for everyone.

  • Pickleball at Play Pickle is about building community. Participate actively in our events, encourage fellow players, and contribute to a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Your enthusiasm and participation help strengthen our community bonds.

  • As a participant, you're expected to be punctual and prepared for games or events. Be responsible for your conduct, respect Play Pickle equipment and facilities, and leave them in the same condition you found them.

  • In case of disagreements, approach the situation calmly and respectfully. Avoid escalating conflicts, and seek assistance from Play Pickle staff if needed. We are here to ensure a harmonious environment for all.

  • Failure to adhere to this code of conduct may result in removal from the game or event and could lead to exclusion from future Play Pickle activities.

  • Above all, enjoy the game! Pickleball is a fantastic way to have fun, stay active, and make new friends. Embrace every opportunity to play, laugh, and enjoy the company of fellow pickleball enthusiasts.
